Innovative Brands to Focus on the Consumer

The Consumer Forum, a partnership of like-minded companies focused on the consumer experience, is launching on Tuesday 27th October.

The Forum is backed by leading high street and online retail brands brought together by LOVEFiLM chief executive Simon Calver. Members will interact directly with the public, working in partnership with consumers and businesses alike in order to champion the importance of positive consumer experiences. Consumer Forum members will also share their own knowledge of great customer service and seek out innovations to spread to the wider business community, with the aim of improving customer experiences throughout the UK.

The Consumer Forum will engage directly with the public via its online consumer panel, which will act as a barometer of consumer opinion. Anyone can join the panel, follow the Forum on twitter or post comments on the Forum’s Facebook page. Whether it’s a matter of poor customer service or concern about changes to the VAT rate, the Forum will interact directly with consumers every step of the way.

The Founder members are:

  • LOVEFiLM – The UK’s largest online DVD & games rental service and entertainment website
  • Ella’s Kitchen – Healthy and tasty organic foods for babies and big little people
  • PhotoBox –UK and Europe’s number one online community for photo printing, sharing and personal publishing

Simon Calver, Chief Executive of LOVEFiLM, states:

“It is vital we ensure that the consumer is treated with respect and equality at all times. That is how we grow and that is how we build reputations. Excellent customer relationships bring considerable value to businesses and the wider UK economy – it is in fact those companies who are fulfilling unique customer needs and using innovative customer relations who are surviving best in the current recession.

The Forum’s members were chosen because they have all gone beyond the call of duty to satisfy their customers, whether by creating online communities or developing new products in response to consumer demand. They are all young, innovative companies that have built their success by putting consumers at the heart of their business, which is exactly what we’ll be encouraging the wider business community to do.”

The Forum’s new website www.consumerforum.org.uk also launches today.
